Prehabvet covers training, performance, injury and disease.

We work with sporting dogs around the world, from arena to farm. Referral is required for dogs with medical conditions or lameness investigation in line with RCVS regulations.

Clinics are held in Wiveliscombe, Somerset and Collumpton, Devon. Prehabvet provides, sports medicine, pain management and rehabilitation services for canines.

Here’s how we help:

As a veterinary-run service, we are able to refer for investigations as needed and keep communication between your medical team up-to-date. Our experience in training and competing with working dogs enables us to pick the right tool for your team, individualised with specialised skills and supervision.

Gait Analysis

Biomechnical assessments in combination with specialised palpation allow us to place your pet on the right treatment path.

Pain Management

We provide plans to help with acute sports injuries, chronic pain and conditions such as arthritis, discussing options based on your goals and lifestyle.

Musculoskeletal Exam

We assess tissue glide, joint movement, and muscle activation - these form your individualised building blocks for treatment and conditioning.

Acupuncture

in the body. We can use it to alleviate pain, help with tense muscles and loosen fascia.

Exercise Prescription

Using examination findings, diagnosis, and goals exercises are prescribed to train the body and brain to adapt.

Soft Tissue Therapy

We can use techniques such as mobilisations, massage and fascial release as a part of a treatment or conditioning plan.

For those wanting a professional check on their dog:

  • 4-Week Plan: Receive an action plan to target weak spots.
  • Exercise Set Reviews: Access to one month of feedback and questions on your action plan via email.
  • Waived Initial Appointment Cost: If an initial consultation is needed within six months, that fee is waived. You’ll proceed directly to a recheck + treatment appointment. Appropriate referral permissions required.

This service is for healthy dogs only and does not include diagnosis or treatment.

Dogs with compromised health or non-performing athletes are ineligible and must schedule a full initial consultation.

We offer soft tissue therapy, and acupuncture-only maintenance treatments.

This is bookable online for:

  • Canine athlete treatments – healthy dogs only.
  • Clients we have discussed as discharged from active rehabilitation, but benefit from maintenance treatment.
